Yorkshire Marathon and Yorkshire 10 mile
Report by Karen Lennox
Fourteen Ripon Runners travelled to York for these two distances that share the same course. The weather was definitely on the runners’ side this year. Both races start and finish at York University the Marathon starting at 9.30am, 10mile 10.15am and sharing the same route for the first 5 miles through the town centre and past the Minster. The Marathon I’m told heads out on a slight undulating route before rejoining the shared route for the last 4 miles and finishing the last half mile with a climb back up to the University and the last few 100m offering a speedy downhill to the finish line. A really well organised race with a great turnout of spectators cheering on around the course. A fab goody bag, lovely medal, T-shirt and a pint of beer for all finishers. Well done everyone and congratulations on plenty of PB’s today.
