Windermere Marathon
James Stuart-Mills and Neil Dring ran the Brathay Windermere Marathon. Starting on the banks of Lake Windermere just outside Ambleside, the wholly road route first heads South along the shore of the Lake through Hawkshead and then on to Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Windermere. It then turns back North to Ambleside via Bowness. Four big hills on the route gives 1,600 ft of ascent and some fabulous Lakeland views. Neil ran a fantastic race for his first sub 4 hour marathon and a significant course PB, finishing in 3:56:00, while James shaved 10 minutes of his course PB for 4:41:00.
