Vale of York 10 mile
Report by Helen Cox
The Vale of York 10 mile is known to be a fast, flat 10 mile road race with a PB waiting to happen! Sunday 14 April saw some of our members tackle this run, starting on the runway at Rufforth Airfield in what felt like icy cold windy conditions.
The course initially takes runners up and down the runway for a mile before gliding off around some traffic free closed roads with two water stations and friendly marshals to help along the way.
1216 runners took part and first back for Ripon Runners in an amazing 91st position and with a fantastic time of 1.08.28 was Paul Layfield.
Other times were:
Helen Cox 1.22.12 PB
Beth Constantine 1.23.08 PB
Andy Purll 1.24.09
Sarah Bromily 1.28.48
Anita Oldham 1.36.15
Nicola Shillam 1.37.13 PB
Tori Easey 1.37.16 PB
Laura Vennell 1.46.20 PB
David Taylor 1.47.07
Well done to everyone, I would definitely recommend this run but get in quick next year if you fancy it as it always sells out really quickly.
