Three Races in a Day - 12 August

Report by Andy Purll

Congratulations to every runner who completed the ‘Three races in a day’ challenge, you are all legends!

The weather tried its best to dampen our spirits, but Ripon Runners are made of strong stuff and I was delighted to see folk smashing PBs, conquering their first fell race, coming together making new friendships and having fun.

Congratulations Ted Leahy and Beth Constantine for winning the 3 races trophies, Stan Appleton and Finn Williamson (Sally Williamson) at either end of the age spectrum for inspiring the runners of the future, Laura Terry for literally running away with the sack race and also a big shout out to Geoff Crutchley and Vicki Kirstin for winning their age groups in the races.

Finally, events like this cannot happen without the considerable help of others.
A big round of applause for John Skinner whose passion for t-shirts and animal feed sacks, knows no bounds, to Paul Nipper Brazier and Sharon Brazier for helping us keep dry with the fetching and erection of gazebos and of course to our own Time Lord, Michelle Purll for keeping everybody on track recording their times.

I will post a link to full race results when available (it may be a little while!)

Until next year when the Claret Army marches West again…….!
