Thirsk 10

In weather that was perfect for fast road running, members took to the streets around Thirsk in the annual Thirsk 10 mile race. Jo Lofthouse was the first male home for RR in a rapid time of 1hr 4 mins, kept in eyesight by Ben Imeson only 1 minute behind in 1 hr 5 mins. John Chatwin was 3rd home in 1 hr 11 minutes, John Skinner in his first ever 10 mile road race posted a magnificent 1 hr 15 mins and was closely followed by John Ward, who was 3rd in his age category in the same time. Ray Johnstone beat new member Tim Pocock in 1 hr 16 min and 1 hr 20 min respectively. Anneke Imeson put the final polish to her London Marathon prep, coming home 1st Ripon lady in 1 hr 20 min.

Andy Purll surprised himself in 1 hr 23 mins and Fiona Alder recorded a race best in 1 hr 31 minutes. A whole host of closely matched Ripon ladies then followed, Sally Cornforth running in her first ever 10 mile race, continued her run of form in 1 hr 33 mins, Samantha Miles in 1 hr 37, Alexandra Nicol, Jane Goodwin, Andrea Richardson in 1 hr 38 mins. Louise Allen ran strong in 1 hr 43 with Ann Marie brown in 1 hr 49 mins. Finally, the London bound trio of Jo Thwaites, Nicole Sutton and Linda Cadman, completed a great day of running in 1 hr 51 mins.
