Swaledale Marathon

Despite the rather testing conditions, the Swaledale Marathon did’nt disappoint. Brilliantly organised and marshalled by teams of very hardy people, and a great hot meal back in Reeth at the finish where you get your hand made 40th Swaledale Marathon mug. It has got to be on everyone’s list of races to do.
Ripon had seven runners. First back Trevor Bosomworth in his first trail marathon in 3.32 and a creditable 8th place, followed by Paul Walker 21st (3.47) and 2nd M50, Dave Jelley 36th (3.56) 2nd M60, Ray Raper 94th (4.33), Yvonne Smith 131st (4.55), Fred Clapham 267th (6.14) and finally Chris Bennett 357th (7.53).
