Swaledale Marathon
A wet and windy day made Saturday’s Swaledale Marathon a tough challenge for the 400 runners and walkers. First back for Ripon over the 23 mile course was Joe Lofthouse in 3 hours 42 minutes, followed by first Ripon lady (and 4th lady overall) Bridget Bastow in 3:58. Bridget finished alongside Paul Shears who was running his first race in the Ripon colours.
Next across the line was Matthew Holt in 4 hours 1 minute, with Ray Raper (4:09), Iain Wallace (4:25), Paul Morgan (4:30), Jill Holt (4:32), Jo Wallace and Fred Clapham (4:36), Tim Joynson (4:58) and Chris I’Anson (5:31).
