Snowdonia Trail Ultra
Stan Appleton won his age category in Wales at the Snowdonia Trail Ultra, below is his report:
The race is 40 miles long and has 8000 feet of climb, some of it technical, as it winds its way over four high ridges including passing just below the summit of Snowdon itself. Cloud cover and a gusty wind took the edge off the heat but the going was unusually dry and dusty for that part of the world. I took 10hrs 13min for the course, winning my age category by over 40 minutes. I’m delighted given it was the M60 category and I’m almost 70.
