Rudolph's Romp
Six members ventured towards Hull on Saturday 2nd for the LDWA Rudolph Romp event, a mostly runnable course with approximately 1800 feet of ascent spread across 24.5 miles. The race started in the village of Brantingham, then proceeded on a mainly off road route with plenty of snow still on the ground combined with ankle deep mud and water to cool runners down and slow progress. The route also followed part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way with blue skies and sunshine providing great views of the surrounding countryside.
Jill Holt was joint 4th lady overall and first RR in 4 hours 10 minutes, with husband Matthew a few seconds behind. Lisa Quinn ran a strong race to finish in 4 hours 32 minutes, with husband Paul Morgan finishing a further 12 minutes behind in 4:44. Tim Joynson and Ray Raper completed the line up in 5:01.
