Rombalds Stride
On Saturday five members took part in the Rombalds Stride 22 mile off-roader that starts and finishes in Guiseley and goes over Baildon Hill, Rombalds Moor, Ilkley Moor and Otley Chevin with a total ascent of just under 3000 ft. Conditions were perfect under foot with all the usual bogs frozen and covered in a dusting of snow. Visibility was as clear as a bell and the sun even shone – what more could you want!
First back for Ripon was Tim Joynson in a time of 4h48, closely followed by Heather and Darren Glegg in 4h50. Bringing up the rear a few minutes later were Kim Holden and Simon McCudden in a time of 5h06.
