Ripon Ultra 35 Miler

The Ripon Ultra 35 Mile Challenge took place on Saturday 5 October, a tough undulating course starting and finishing in Studley Roger. With good weather conditions, the picturesque route takes in Ripon, North Stainley, Masham and Sawley before a final ascent along the mile straight through Foutains Abbey deer park.

Not for the first time this year, Bill Foreman was again Ripon’s hero, knocking 27 minutes off last year’s effort to whizz to third overall in 4 hours 52 minutes. He was followed by Ray Raper (5:47), Simon Merrin (5:51) and Nick Wilson (5:52). For the ladies, and stepping up to the ultra distance for the first time, was Jill Holt (7:11), with Sian Foster (8:31) completing the line up. (see the photo)
