Ripon 10
A sunny blue sky welcomed 357 runners as Ripon hosted their annual 10 mile race. The tough road route includes running through Fountain Abbey’s deer park before an energy sapping ascent from Fountains Hall to the top of How Hill, and then returning to the finish line via Whitcliffe Lane.
Ripon Enjoyed great success with Sharon Barlow Hamilton representing the club and claiming the women’s title in a time of 1 hour 7 minutes and 50 seconds. 2nd female was won by Barnsley AC’s Beth Massey (1:11:01) and 3rd prize went to Heaton Harriers Rachel Barnes (1:12:47). Young Ben Pease led for much of the race but was eventually overtaken by overall race winner Andy Chadfield from Billingham Marsh Club who just went under the hour mark in 59:14. Ben held on though to claim second spot in a time of 1:00:44. Third male was Andrew Dobby from Harrogate Harriers in 1:01:19.
The male team prize was won by Ripon’s Ben Pease, Jim Berriman and Dougie Scott.

Ripon were also represented by 12th placed Jim Berriman (1:06:47), 20th position going to Dougie Scott (1:08:11).
