Rescheduled JHJ 2015
We finally ran the Jolly Holly Jog on Sunday, 4 weeks later than originally scheduled due to the heavy rain and flooding that the region experienced over the Christmas period.
528 runners turned out to enjoy the undulating course, which was only made possible by the hard work of the race committee and members who had to overcome a number of last minute hitches. Muddy conditions meant runners had to contend with slippery ground around the course before returning to Hell Wath, the start/finish area and race HQ.
The race was won by New Marske Harrier Tristan Learoyd in 36 minutes 34 seconds, 53 seconds ahead of local Harrogate Harrier, Barry McGuire (37:27), with 3rd place going to Ben Pease (37:49). Barry won the Shaun Lee Johnstone trophy, a prize awarded to the first local runner.
Winning the ladies race was Sharon Barlow (40:45), closely followed by Heather Tuffs (42:30) and Karen Pickles (43:01).
Despite most members marshalling and organising, Ripon Runners managed to enter a total of 11 runners with Dave Binks 14th overall in 40:53, the other results were:
