Rat Race Man vs Mountain
Report by Sheena Jackson
Julian and I completed the Rat Race Man v Mountain event on Saturday in approximately 6 hours 11 minutes (time according to my Garmin).
Man v Mountain is touted as an event rather than a race, with the emphasis being on completion rather than time. It’s approximately 22 hilly miles and takes in an ascent of Snowdon after 14 miles, along with a bit of swimming in a disused quarry, an abseil down into a lake, a waterslide into the same lake and a swim across a small river for good measure.
This was our fourth year doing this well organised event and we’ll definitely be back next year. The views from the top of Snowdon were stunning as it was actually clear for once, although we didn’t hang around as it was very cold up there!
