Pisa Half Marathon - 15.12.19
Report by Paul Ackerley
The registration process for this event took longer to complete than the run itself. The process was so problematic and painful in so many ways, that when I turned up at the expo the day before, the secretary and I met like long lost friends.
The route starts in the old town, and passes all the sights of Pisa (which are all in the old town) and then passes into the countryside and comes back in along the river (with the full marathon taking you out to the coast and then back along more of the river). The event finishes next to… yes, you’ve guessed it, that leaning tower. A lot of runners, but a wide route, so no bunching, lots of refreshment stations (water, hot tea, cake, fruit, biscuits, etc) and well marshalled. But the registration process has put me off ever doing it again.
