Pease Pleaser at Lightwater
The club had much to celebrate at the weekend with new member Ben Pease taking little time to make an impression by winning the Lightwater Valley 10k race.
The teenager was first across the line in a field of 322 runners, which included strong local opposition, in a time of 35 minutes 18 seconds. Next for Ripon was fellow teenager Reece Dalton in 10th with a time of 38:52. Three other top 20 spots for the club went to Douglas Scott (39:03), Jim Berriman (39:15) and Simon Cave (40:23) claiming 11th, 13th and 18th places respectively.
The ladies race was won by Sharon Barlow Hamilton representing Darlington Harriers in 39:29, Sharon was closely followed by two Ripon members in Donna Riddler (3rd lady 42:08) and a fantastic 5th female spot for young Emma Sorby in 43:55.
In The 3k run, Ripon’s junior members Ella Foster was first girl to finish while Shannon Robinson was 3rd girl home.
