Old Mother Shipton Shuffle
Report by Lena Conlin
The event organised by the It’s Grim Up North Running team was held in Knaresborough on 10 November. The course was undulating, mainly hard surface, it set off along the Beryl Burton Cycleway and also went along part of the cycle path that runs from Ripley to Starbeck. It was a 4 lap course with 2 feed stations. There were a mix of different distances to choose from, 10 km, half marathon, 20 mile, marathon and ultra. I did the marathon, it was lovely seeing the other runners back and forth along the course. I completed my 100th marathon and the IGUN team surprised me with a lovely cake. I recommend the IGUN races, lapped courses, great support team and always lots of cake, not to mention the beer and chocolate that you get to go with your medal.
I am aware that other Ripon Runners were at the event but no further race reports or times have been received.
