New Member Julian Completes Fell Race
Three Ripon runners took part in High Cup Nick Fell race, which starts and finishes in the Village of Dufton in Cumbria. Runners had to contend with wet and windy conditions on a very tough 9 mile route which has over 1,500 feet of ascent. The start is particularly challenging with a long steady climb up the valley towards the stunning natural gorge of High Cup Nick, which during the race, was mainly hidden in the mist. Completing his first ever race as a Ripon Runner was Julian Davis, along with partner Sheena Jackson, who crossed the line together in 1 hour 55 minutes. Fastest of the trio was Martin Gabriel, who recorded a 1 hour 35 minute time. (exact results TBC)
