Muddy Boots 10k
As usual, Ripon Runners supported the local Muddy Boots 10k race on Sunday in many ways, from race director, setting up the course and marshalling, as well as many members entering the actual race.
Cold and muddy conditions made it tough going for all 416 competitors, and the race was won by Andy Grant of Harrogate Harriers in 34 minutes 34 seconds
First back for Ripon, was Reece Dalton in 5th place overall in 35:48. He was closely followed by Alex Fawcett, who didn’t let a 26 mile training run the day before on the North York Moors slow him down, in 39:27, and then James Boddy (40:14). Reece, Alex and James collected Male Team Prize. Lee Stanley (40:28), Simon Cave (40:48) claimed top 20 positions, with only 5 places separating John Chatwin (23rd 42:06), Lucas Fawcett (25th 42:25) and Trevor Schofield (28th 43:12).
Chloe Dalton was first female for the club, claiming the prize for her age category, in a time of 47:21, while Jill Holt was next RR female in a PB time 48:26. Other positions and times were:
