Michael Finishes SLJ 10 Mile Challenge
Michael Bray was among a number of Ripon Runners competing at the Shaun Lee Johnstone 10 mile memorial run on Sunday, once again raising money for brain tumour research charities. Anne Cheeseman accompanied Michael on his latest challenge, and the pair managed to walk / run the very muddy and wet Boroughbridge course in 2 hours 57 minutes.
Since Michael first came to Ripon Runners in February of this year, he has covered almost 500 miles, including the tough and undulating 13 mile Shadow of Pendle LDWA event that he completed last month with Ray Raper.
Alex Fawcett was first Ripon Runner back and first in male V50 category in 1 hour 4 minutes 28 seconds, while Emma Sorby was first Ripon female in 1:20:49 on her 17th birthday. Also celebrating his birthday was Martin Whipp, who recorded a great time 1:29:29.

Race director Ray Johnstone had the pleasure of seeing Shaun’s brother Adam amongst the finishers in 1 hour 8 minutes 25 seconds for 12th place overall.
