Melmerby 10k
Nearer to home and over the shorter 10k distance, many Ripon Runners turned out for the Melmerby 10K. Ben Pease was third overall and won the Male Young age group in a time of 34 minutes 13 seconds while John Ward won the V65 group in 43:26. Alex Fawcett was 16th position in 36:48 with son Lucas continuing to improve for 41:12 finish. Just under a minute separated Reece Dalton (37:21) and Ben Imeson (38:18), with an even narrower gap between Lee Stanley (28th in 38:43) and Jim Berriman (29th in 38:46). First female for Ripon was young Emma Sorby in a stunning PB time of 41:41.
Dewi Winkle supported the Oates family of Emma and Steve and their son Tom. Tom, who won the special achievement award, finished the course in 1:29:06 to raise money for Henshaws.
