Manchester Marathon
Over 9,000 runners descended on Manchester to compete in that city’s marathon on Sunday. Alex Fawcett finished 246th and 10th in his age category when he went sub 3 for the first time, clocking a great finish in 2 hours 56 minutes 57 seconds.
Only 28 seconds separated Ripon’s next two runners, with Dave Binks 3:09:07 just ahead of Ben Imeson 3:09:35. Douglas Scott managed to battle back from recent injury for an impressive 3:17:39. Personal bests followed for James Boddy (3:25:37), Anthony Jefford (3:26:55), Anneke Imeson (3:46:58) and Heather Glegg (3:54:26). Simon McMudden completed his 64th marathon in 4:17:20, followed by Neil Dring 4:40:46 and finally Julie Brown 5:46:38.
