Malhamdale Challenge
A warm day welcomed runners to the Malham area for a tough course consisting of 22 miles of off road tracks with 3,011 feet of ascent. The way marked course took in Pikedaw, Gordale Scar and Malham Tarn before returning to Kirby Malham Parish Hall.
The race was won by Ben Hamilton from Selby in 2 hrs 44 mins 44 secs. However, Ripon had some great results with Dave Binks 13th overall in 3:28:42. Next back for the club was Claire Jamieson and Iain Wallace in 3:42:18 with Claire claiming third female spot.
Jo Wallace was next in 4:00:31 followed by Tony White 4:16:25 and John Chatwin, who was enjoying his first off road run, in 4:17:59. Kim Holden and Simon McCudden finished in 5:11:48, with Tony Carr 5:31:36, Mel Dutka 5:38:10 and Robin Kehoe 5:45:19 completing the line up.
Andy Purll completed the shorter 9 mile route but still had to contend with 1,100 feet of ascent in 1:47:49.
