Leeds Abbey Dash 10k
Report by Helen Cox
Leeds Abbey Dash 10k is well known for being a fast flat closed road course and it certainly lived up to its name today. The run raises money for Age UK and saw nearly 7000 finishers this year.
Today saw 11 Ripon Runners running the streets of Leeds, starting from The Headrow near Millennium Square and making their way up to Kirkstall Abbey to the 5k turn point, then back down the other side to the finish. John Chatwin was first Ripon Runner to finish in an impressive time of 36.48, a PB of over 2 minutes. Beth Constantine was first lady home for RR in another brilliant time of 46.40, another PB and knocking 5 and a half minutes off last years time on this course.
Other results are as follows:
Nicole Sutton 48.46
Helen Cox 49.26 PB
Jo Thwaites 53.33 PB
Koren Carr 57.30 PB
Tori Easey 56.36 PB
Linda Cadman 1 hr 3.40 and running amazing after injury
John Garbutt 1 hr 7.04
Trish Garbutt 1 hr 17.09
Karen Price 1 hr 17.09
A super well done for today, a bit chilly and rainy at the start but it didn’t stop anyone from doing a fantastic job, really well done, am proud to be part of such a supportive and friendly club.
