LDWA Filey Flyer
Paul Walker was joint first at Saturday’s Filey Flyer, a 22 mile long circular race with approximately 1,700 feet of ascent. The first 6 miles saw runners head north along the Cleveland Way towards Scarborough, in muddy, windy conditions combined with occasional hail showers. Weather conditions improved as the course then headed inland along tracks, roads and open fields with great views through part of the Yorkshire Wolds. Paul finished in 3 hours 5 minutes, with Matthew Holt 9th overall in 3:35. Jane Grundy & Stuart Pender were next from Ripon in 4:06, with Heather Glegg, Tony White and Tim Joynson next in 4:27. Mike Rosher 5:20, Simon McCudden 5:28 and Robin Kehoe 5:47 also finished long course.
Completing the 16 mile short route was Dave Nicklas in 3:30, just ahead of Jo Hope, Lisa Quinn (3:33) and Penny Nicklas in (3:35).
