Knaresborough Bed Race

Ripon Ladies team continued their domination of the Knaresborough Bed Race as they made it 4 consecutive wins at last weekends event. The race involves teams of six pushing a bed and passenger on a 2 mile course through the streets of Knaresborough, before a river crossing to the finish line on the other side of the Nidd.

This years ladies team was a mixture of previous members and new, with debuts for Nicole Sutton and Kristie Taylor alongside the experienced Suzanne Rickard, Sharon Barlow Hamilton, Becky Turner and Donna Riddler.

Ripon’s mens team also did exceptionally well, as they had five runners experiencing the race for the first time. James Boddy almost led his team to overall victory, in the fastest time ever recorded for a Ripon team, but was just pipped into second place by 15 seconds. Along with James, new young runners Ben Pease and Reece Dalton lined up with Dave Binks, Douglas Scott and Jim Berriman.
