Jo and Gary Race in Europe
Jo Wallace completed the OCC, a race that is part of the UTMB events held last week. Starting in Orsières in Switzerland and finishing in Chamonix in France, the OCC is 35 miles long and contains a gruelling 11,000 feet of ascent. 1,231 runners managed to finish with Jo 451st overall and 5th in her age category.
Also in Europe was Gary Bastow, who competed in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship in Susa, Italy. in 33 degree heat, runners had to complete the 6.5km long climb with over 1,300 metres of ascent. More than 30 countries were represented over a weekend of events, and Gary claimed 22nd place overall in the V55 category in his race.
