It's Grim Up North Pateley Pie n Pint Summer Jumble
The same course that a number of Ripon Runners competed over earlier this year, but rather hotter than the icy conditions experienced then. As usual with the well organised, friendly, Grim Up North events there were a variety of distances on offer, arranged so the longest distance runners set off earliest on the 5 mile laps. The multi-terrain course included gates, stiles and bridges to negotiate, a wide variety of surfaces, a few hills and amazing scenery. Well marshaled, with a food/water station during the lap as well as at the start/finish area. As an added bonus to the pie, pint, medal and plentiful cake on finishing, there were awards for the first 3 men and lady finishers in each race (no age group awards).
RR ladies results –
5 mile race – Beth Constantine – 1st lady, and 3rd overall in the race 43m53s, Helen Cox also ran, supporting friend Chloe to complete the distance.
15 mile race – Jo Pears – 1st lady, and 3rd overall 2hr26m57, Anne Cheeseman – 2nd lady, 2hr29m15. Sarah Bromiley also completed 15 miles in 2hr44m55.
Well done the ladies!
