Helmsley 10k
Ripon Runners decided to earn their Easter eggs by competing at the Helmsley 10k run. The fourth running of this event took place on Easter Sunday (20 April) and it was a huge success with over 400 entrants. The route has an interesting 2 mile uphill start before allowing runners to capture their breath and return back to the town to collect a chocolate egg as part of the finishers’ prize.
Joe Lofthouse was Ripon’s star man as he returned home in a very impressive 41 minutes 44 seconds, with Gary Wilks only 2 minutes behind in 43:44.
Nigel Bower shook off recent injuries for a welcome return with a sub 50 in 49:42, while husband and wife duo Jo and Ian Wallace kept each other company with a 51:16 finish.
