Hardmoors Goathland
The most runnable course of the Hardmoor marathon race series was held on Saturday, with three members running the marathon course, and Claire Baker competing at the half marathon event. Usually this event is very boggy and muddy, but this year the course was much drier. The full marathon route was just under 28 miles long and ‘only’ had 3,300 ft of ascent, most of that came in the first half. Matthew Holt was first back for Ripon for 21st place in a time of 4 hours 58 minutes, followed by Jill Holt (44th) in 5 hours 39 minutes, while Lena Conlin (48th) finished in 5 hours 49 minutes. Claire Baker claimed 4th female spot in the half marathon distance in 2 hours 8 minutes.
