Douglas Goes Sub 3 at Yorkshire Marathon
On Sunday, over 7,000 runners competed at the Yorkshire Marathon, on a course that starts and finishes in the centre of York, and then takes in the surrounding villages of Sand Hutton, Stamford Bridge and Dunnington. Dougie produced his best marathon performance for a superb sub-three hour finish and 76th position overall in 2 hours 58 minutes 17 seconds.
Another three members went under the 4 hour mark with Joe Lofthouse (3:28:51), John Chatwin (3:31:03) and Peter Brodie (3:50:08) all running well. Just 6 minutes separated the next three runners of David Ritson (4:06:35), James Stuart-Mills (4:08:27) and Lena Conlin (4:12:56), with Simon McCudden (4:34:41) and Neil Dring (4:54:44) also finishing.
Fiona and Michael Hernandez joined the marathon runners for the 10 mile challenge, and kept each other company to finish together in 1 hour 48 minutes 55 seconds.
