Nearer to home, and a large number of members competed at the Guy Fawkes 10 mile race, a hilly road course that finishes in the grounds of Ripley Castle. Douglas Scott was 29th out 811 finishers in 1 hour 06 minutes 59 seconds, with Michael Hernandez and Sturart Pender following in 1:13:05 and 1:18:45. Next Across the line was Andrew Harker (1:22:43), Neil Dring (1:27:05), and RR’s first females Jo Hope and Sarah Hood in 1:28:06, closely followed by Lesley Willoughby (1:28:49).
