Dawn 'til Dusk Challenge

Report by Kathryn Smith

On Saturday Lena completed her 93rd marathon at Duncombe Park, Dawn till Dusk Challenge. The run was organised by the Grim Up North team. It was a very subtle trail of 3-mile laps, where she went around 13 times. The weather was perfect, the course was undulating and the food available was brilliant. Every time I saw Lena she had determination written on her face and she was on a mission to achieve. She did incredibly well, even smiling for the camera.

Where I on the other hand was in a relay team so had plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Learning how to stop start, which initially I thought would be easy but for me it’s not. After my 6 laps, I retired due to beginner error injury, I have learnt some valuable lessons.

Well done Lena, you’re a star. Both Lena and myself would recommend the run.
