Clowne Half Marathon
Members were well represented at the Clowne Half Marathon, an undulating course taking in the villages of Clowne. Whaley, Elmton, Creswell and Whitwell. The race attracts many top athletes from the South Yorkshire and Derby area, drawn by the great race organisation and prizes. On a cold day, where the sun shone briefly and the rain came and went, first home for Ripon was Douglas Scott in 1 hr 33 mins, with David Allen, running his first road half marathon close behind in 1 hr 38 mins. Next best, taking an amazing 16 minutes of his PB, was Dan Ross, finishing in 2 hrs 1 min with Andy Purll same time and Simon McCudden only 1 minute behind in 2hrs 2min.
