Clough Head Fell Race
Three Ripon runners travelled over to Keswick to take part in the Dynafit Winter Fell Race series – this time doing Clough Head fell race. This was a tough one with 1,800 ft of ascent in just 4 miles – it was a long way up into the snow and cloud but a fantastic view as it cleared just for a few moments.
An exposed route in places added to the excitement (fear!) . Gary Bastow first V50, 16th place in 51:57, Sally Houghton first FV50, 20 place and 5th lady in 53:22, but the biggest shout out had to go Martin Gabriel – back on the fells with a fantastic 23 place 53:48 beating me all the way till the last downhill section. He’s back and what a great race to come back to!
