Claire Claims 3rd Lady
Claire Baker claimed third female prize at the Endurancelife Ultra Marathon on Saturday. Held in Northumberland and starting in the town of Alnwick, the 36 mile linear route heads east to join the coastline, which has wonderful scenery boasting sandy beaches, rolling dunes and isolated islands. As runners completing the marathon event cross the line at Bamburgh Castle, those who have opted for the Ultra Race have another 8 mile loop to complete before they can finish. The course had 2,100 feet of ascent and Claire just managed to finish in a sub six hour time of 5 hours 58 minutes.
