Bucking Hell 30k Mountain Race
Report by Gary Bastow
Me and Bridge are in Vancouver Canada to see Jared her Son. He lives near Deep Cove in North Vancouver. There is a mountain series event there called the Bucking Hell 30 k mountain race that goes from the Cove side weaving its way up 12 miles through the rain forest up Mount Seymour at 5300 ft and six miles descent back to the finish. It was very technical, very steep and with the added thrill of bears, chipmunks and hummingbirds!
204 people took part. Bridget having a great run onto the top and back in 4 hrs 15 mins and getting first v50 woman. Great run by her and she beat me to the top!
I caught her down hill and finished in 4.03mins and got first V60.
Just to mention Jared who entered his first mountain event and came home 8 th in 3.15.
A great family result!!!
