Broxa Breaker Race
Paul Walker ran 30 miles from Cropton to Scarborough on Saturday as a warm up for the Broxa Breaker Race on Sunday, which started from the seaside town. The course was advertised as 27 miles, but due to missing route marker tape, most competitors ended up going wrong and covering a much further distance. After a few wrong turns, Paul eventually returned to the finish line having run over 33 miles and 3,000 feet of ascent in 6 hours 15 minutes. The event raised £2,000 for the Army Benevolent Fund and MacMillan.
