Bolton Abbey Manorlands Trail Races
Report by Andrew Harker
On Sunday some of us went over the hill to Wharfedale to compete in the Bolton Abbey Manorlands trail races. All four races were quite undulating with some moist ground under foot. Christy Irish entered the fun run with Bob and Giraff for company. Bob had a stormer and finishing the 2.27 mile course in 25:07, which gave him 39th place out of 150. With 227 feet of elevation. Not bad at all. Christy finished 1:33 later. Buck your ideas up mother. Others taking part were Philippa Dallas in the (have I got to run up that hill 50 metres after starting?) 10k event and finished in 1:12:16. In the half marathon Andrew Harker finished in 2:05:30, John Smith 2:16:01 and Eva Bennett in 2:20:52. The half had some cracking hills with a total of 2,242 feet of elevation. A cracking day provided us with some brilliant views in what must be one of the best trial races I have done.
