Blubberhouses 25
The latest LDWA race, the Blubberhouses 25 was held on Sunday, with a circular route starting from Norwood and taking in Beamsley Beacon for 2800 foot of ascent over the 25 mile long course. Matthew Holt finished in 4 hours 12 minutes, while Fred Clapham had an excellent run to finish in 4 hours 20 minutes. Claire Baker celebrated a return to long distance running after 8 months of injury by finishing with Tim Joynson in 4 hours 51 minutes. Tony White competed (time TBC) while Kim Holdens navigational error after leaving Beamsley Beacon meant a finish time of 6 hours 43 minutes. Robin Kehoe had to retire with a twisted ankle after 15 miles, but Chris Bennett and Mike Pennock pressed on to finish in approx. 7 hours 30 mins.
