Binks First Back for RR at Bingley
Four members entered Saturdays Harriers versus Cyclists race organised by Bingley Harriers. The event is a competition between runners and cyclists with (usually) the first 10 in each category to score. The winning team holds the Fisherman Trophy for one year. The trophy is named after The Fisherman Inn from where the race starts
Setting off from Bingley, the course is 5.5 very muddy miles long with 650 foot of ascent, and quite technical in parts. The route was challenging for runners – not least dodging out of the way of bikes either being thrown over shoulders to be carried uphill or careering past on the downhill.
Dave Binks led the RR quartet home followed by Paul Walker, Sally Houghton and John Bull.
