Behobia-San Sebastian Half Marathon
Heather Glegg and Tony White returned to Spain last weekend to compete in the Behobia-San Sebastian Half Marathon. Despite the cold, wet and windy weather in Northern Spain, over 27,000 runners turned up at the start line, mostly wearing ponchos and waterproofs to protect themselves from the rain and hail. The race starts at the French/Spanish border, follows the coast to the elegant city of San Sebastian, finishing alongside the sea front.
Thankfully the conditions improved marginally during the race, the atmosphere at the finish living up to it’s usual lively reputation. San Sebastian is famous for being the ‘foodie’ capital of Spain, with the centre supposedly having more bars and restaurants per person than any other city in the world. Definitely worthy of a visit!
For the record Heather finished in 1.46.21 and Tony in 1.43.13.
