Bastow in fine fettle at Wasdale
Gary Bastow, arguably one of Ripon’s best ever fell runners, continued his impressive season with 2nd place in his V50 age category at the Wasdale Show Fell Race on Saturday 12 October.
Gary, whose previous achievements include winning the 1990 and 1995 Swaledale Marathon in a then record time of 2 hours 57 minutes, completed the 2.5 mile and 2400 foot ascent route in 49 minutes 44 seconds for 18th position overall. (see the photo)
