Arncliffe Fell Race
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, three Ripon Runners took part in the Arncliffe Fell Race – part of the annual village fete! With the brass band playing in the background the 2 mile race takes runners up a steep grassy 460ft ascent, followed by a ridge run and then steep descent. Dave Jelley on his first BOFRA race and Martin Gabriel back for more on his second had great runs striding home in the late afternoon sunshine, while the ever impressive Sally Houghton also had a good race coming 3rd lady overall and winning her age category.
At the same fete, Andy Purll came 31st in the 4 mile road race with Lindsey Fallow, close behind in her local event, despite an injury picked up mid race.
