The Trollers Trot is an undulating 25 mile course taking in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales while combining 3,064 feet of ascent. The event is well marshalled with water and snacks along the way to support runners and starts from Threshfield just outside Grassington. The route takes in Winterburn Reservoir, Barden Tower and Trollers Ghyll before returning to Threshfield by following the Dales Way along the River Wharfe for the final 4 miles.
A glorious sunny day meant conditions were perfect and Paul Walker once again put in a quality performance by being part of the leading pack for the majority of the race before finish 8th overall in 3 hours 36 minutes.
He was followed by Nick Wilson, who won his age category in 3:49, Iain Wallace (3:55), Matthew Holt (4:12), Paul Morgan (4:16), Andy Turner (4:17), Ray Raper (4:18).
The trio of Anneke Imeson, Simon McCudden and Jo Wallace were next in 4 hours 29 minutes, followed by Tim Joynson (4:36) and the duo of Jill Holt, who was making a welcome return to distance running, accompanying John Grundy for a 5 hour 18 minute finish.
Running partners Jackie Turner and Lena Conlin finished in 5:29, and Helen Pickard (1st female O55) and Michelle Needham continued their Liverpool Marathon preparations by finishing in 5:43.
