The 2015 Ripon 10 Mile
The club hosted its annual 10 mile race on Sunday 17 May with just over 400 entries making the event a great success. The route is a tough course, in and around Studley Deer Park, taking in a few ascents, including the mile straight road through the deer park and then another steeper mile climb from Fountains Hall to the top of Howe Hill.
The winner of the overall event was Mike Jefferies from Richmond & Zetland Harriers, who averaged sub 6 minute miles for a 58 minute 48 second finish time.
Ripon member Sharon Barlow Hamilton won on her home patch, taking the first female prize in 1 hour 6 minutes 30 seconds, alongside new team mate Paul Cook.

Next for Ripon was Paul Walker, who is warming up for his Hardmoors 110 mile long challenge next weekend and finished in 1:13:06, with Simon McCudden (1:20:09) and Richard Appleton (1:22:36) not far behind. The Ripon line up was completed by the trio of Anne Cheeseman, Fiona Blaylock and Samantha Miles all crossing the line together in 1:42:55.
The finishers goody bag included a mug so runners could enjoy a well-earned refreshment and the chipped timing, which is used at all Ripon organised events, gave runners an accurate finish time.
Ripon Runners would like to thank all those helped organise and marshal at the event, and in particularly Tim Joynson for all his hard work as Race Director.
