Snowdonia Marathon

Alex Fawcett, Ben Imeson and Stan Appleton were among 1,872 runners to compete in the Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday 24 October. The course, which circles Snowdon the highest peak in Wales and England, has a total of 2,750 feet of ascent. The race starts in Llanberis and climbs to the top of the Pen y Pass at 1100ft with another steep climb to about 1,200ft at Bwlch y Groes prior to a downhill to the finish.

Alex was again impressive, conquering the route in 3 hours 23 minutes 8 seconds for 118th overall, with Ben only 12 minutes behind in 3:35:59 for 243rd. Stan managed a great performance to finish 5th in his age category and took 29 minutes off last year’s effort with a superb time of 4:19:03.
