DT20 - Inaugural Race

A new series of trail runs started on 4 April with the inaugural DT20 run, a 20 km event starting and finishing at Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales.

The idea behind the events is to attract not only experienced off road runners but also those who have not experienced this type of event before, and those who may struggle to navigate as the course is fully marked.

First of the Ripon contingent to complete the route, which packed in 2,400 feet of ascent was Paul Walker‎ in 2 hours and 45 seconds.

Claire Baker, fresh from her Blubberhouses win 6 days earlier was next in 2:04:59 with four seconds separating Anneke Imeson 2:08:30 and Matthew Holt 2:08:34.

‎Ray Raper and Ian Wallace finished together in 2:10:01 while Jonathon Baker managed 2:26:34 and Chris I’Anson completing the line up in 2:28:27.

The race was well received with most runners looking forward to completing another in the 2015 series. The two other events planned are the DT30 and DT40 on 11 July and 26 September respectively. Entry for both is still available‎ at www.dalestrailseries.uk.
