Barlow Hamilton Claims Double Success
Sharon Barlow Hamilton stormed to her second title in just eight days as she claimed first Female at the Catterick 10k on Sunday 16 February. The race is run to help raise funds as part of the Help the Heroes.
Showing little fatigue from her Muddy Boots win in Ripon the week before, Sharon glided around the tough course in a stunning time of 39 minutes and 6 seconds.
A hat trick of North Yorkshire wins was on the cards but unfortunately family commitments means Sharon will miss the forthcoming Lightwater Valley 10k, however she is looking forward to her next challenge, a 5 mile road race in her native Northern Ireland.
Two of the quickest male runners and fellow Ripon members were also in attendance. The increasingly quick Anthony Jefford wasted little time completing the race in 38 minutes 22 seconds for 8th overall. And Simon Merrin, who has recently increased his participation in longer off-road events, was impressive with a 40 minute 27 seconds time and 18th overall.
