A Dash to PBs at the Abbey
On Sunday 17 November, 10k PBs were order of the day as Ripon Runners travelled to Leeds city centre for the Abbey Dash. Starting on The Headrow, the route heads out of the city to Kirkstall Abbey before returning along the same route. The flat course attracted 9,443 entrants and Ripon were rewarded with three members breaking the 37 minute barrier.
Personal best times saw Anthony Jefford first Ripon Runner across the line in 36 minutes 5 seconds, closely followed by Ben Imeson 36:23 (PB) and Sharon Barlow Hamilton 36:54 (PB), who was also 5th in her age category.
Another seven runners competed; Tori Green (38:09), Ian Swinscoe (45:55 PB), Kim Holden (50:20 PB), Darcy Mercer (54:45), sisters Jane and Ruth Grundy (1:02:19) and Gerry Conroy (1:07:36).
